Biography: Tony Randall was born Aryeh (Arthur) Leonard Rosenberg on February 26, 1920 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Julia and Mogscha Rosenberg. He studied at Northwestern University for one year and then studied under Sanford Meisner and Martha Graham at the Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre. He was an announcer at radio station WTAG in Worcester, Massachusetts. He founded the National Actors Theatre in 1991. He married Florence Gibbs and then married Heather Harlan, with whom he had his children Julia and Jefferson.

Film/TV Credits: Film credits include: "Robin and the 7 Hoods," "The King of Comedy," "Gremlins 2: The New Batch," "Down with Love," "Let's Make Love," "Pillow Talk," "Scavenger Hunt," "Fatal Instinct," "Lover Come Back," and "Send Me No Flowers." Television credits include: "Saturday Night Live," "Happy Days," "The Daily Show," "The Magic School Bus," "The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson," and "The Alfred Hitchcock Hour."

Other Awards: Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for "The Odd Couple" in 1975.

Trivia:
His autobiography, Which Reminds Me, was published in 1989.
The marquees of Broadway theaters were dimmed in his honor on May 18, 2004.
