Biography: Tharon Musser was born on January 8, 1925 in Roanoke, Virginia. She attended Berea College and Yale University. She is survived by her life partner, lighting designer Marilyn Rennagel.

Trivia: In 1975, she brought new technology to the industry as A Chorus Line was the first Broadway show to use a fully computerized lighting console instead of manually operated "piano boards."
She did lighting for 13 seasons of the American Shakespeare Festival in Stratford, Connecticut.
The marquees of Broadway theaters were dimmed in her honor on April 20, 2009.
