Biography: Lawrence Leo King was born on January 1, 1929 in Putnam, Texas to Clyde Clayton King and Cora Lee King. He joined the Army after dropping out of high school. He then worked various Congressional jobs before becoming a leading figure in journalism. His first marriage was to Wilma Jeanne Casey with whom he had three children -- Alexandria King, Kerri Mitchell and Bradley Clayton King. He then married Rosemarie Coumaris Kline, who died in 1972. He then married Barbara Blaine with whom he had two children -- Blaine and Lindsay King Arnault.

Film/TV Credits: "The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas" and "The Best Little Statehouse in Texas."

Other Awards: 1982 Emmy Award for the CBS documentary "The Best Little Statehouse in Texas."
