Biography: John Reginald Neville was born on May 2, 1925 in Willesdon, London to Mabel Lillian and Reginald Daniel Neville. He trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and began his professional career with his membership in the Trent Players. He became a leading member of London's Old Vic Company, and a frequent visiting player at the Bristol Old Vic. In 1961 he became co-artistic director of the Nottingham Playhouse. He was the artistic director of the Citadel Theatre in Edmonton, Alberta from 1973-1978. He was the artistic director of the Stratford Festival of Canada from 1985-1989.
