Biography: Mort Lindsey was born Morton Lippman on March 21, 1923 in Newark, New Jersey. He was classically trained as a child, and studied at Columbia. He married Betty Bonney in 1955. He was musical director for "The Merv Griffin Show" from 1962 to 1986.
