Biography: Allan Franklin Arbus was born on February 15, 1918 in New York City to Harry and Rose Arbus. He married Diane Nemerov in 1941 and they had two daughters, Amy and Doon. He served as a photographer in the Army Signal Corps in Burma during World War II. He then supplied photos for magazines like Glamour and Vogue. He married Mariclare Costello in 1976 and had his daughter Arin Arbus.
