This return engagement featured a gender reversal in the lead roles. The role of Ken Harrison, played in the first production by Tom Conti, was renamed Claire Harrison and played by Mary Tyler Moore. The role of Dr. Scott, played originally by Jean Marsh, was now Dr. David Scott, played by James Naughton.
