Opening night was originally scheduled for January 19, 1989. This production was scheduled to run in repertory with Nimrod and the Tower of Babel, a musical with the same composer as Senator Joe, Tom O'Horgan, but with book and lyrics by John Walker. Previews were scheduled to begin in February 1989, with an opening night of March 9. However, Senator Joe closed in previews, before Nimrod could begin previews and is therefore not included on IBDB.
