Biography: Wendy Wasserstein was born on October 18, 1950 in Brooklyn, New York to Morris Wasserstein and Lola Schleifer. She attended at Mount Holyoke College, City College, and Yale University School of Drama. Her daughter, Lucy Jane, was born in 1999.

Film/TV Credits: Film credits include: "The Object of My Affection," "Life with Mikey," "Broadway: The Golden Age, by the Legends Who Were There," and "Making Trouble." Television credits include: "Frasier," "Sesame Street," "Late Show with David Letterman," "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," "Ryan's Hope," and "Great Performances."

Other Awards: Received the Pulitzer Prize for Drama for The Heidi Chronicles in 1989. Received the William Inge Award for Distinguished Achievement in American Theatre in 1993. Inducted into the American Theater Hall of Fame in 2007.

Her other writing includes self-help literature spoof "Sloth" and two books of essays entitled "Bachelor Girls" and "Shiksa Goddess."
