Waterbury attended Kent State University and was a graduate of The American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City. Laura was a veteran of ten Broadway shows, numerous National tours and regional theatres around the country. Her impeccable comic timing and glorious singing voice thrilled and delighted audiences throughout her decades' long career. After moving to Los Angeles in the mid-80's she was equally successful in television and film, her best known role being that of the hilarious Mrs. Smith in the cult classic film, "Better Off Dead". She went on to become a Casting Director and later was the Auditions and Outside Field Rep. at Actors Equity L.A. for ten years.
