Biography: Sid Melton was born Sidney Meltzer on May 22, 1917 in Brooklyn, New York to Yiddish theater comedian Isidor Meltzer and Fannie Meltzer. He entertained American soldiers overseas during World War II. He signed his first Hollywood contract with Lippert Pictures in 1949.
