Biography: Tresa Hughes was born on September 17, 1929 in New York City. She studied at Maryland Art Institute and Johns Hopkins and George Washington Universities. She graduated from Wayne State University. She was a company member of Pennsylvania's Hedgerow Theatre and Playwrights Theater Company in Chicago. She married documentary filmmaker Robert Hughes, with whom she had her daughter, Rebecca Hughes.
